Full Tour Itinerary
Select Day:
Day 1 - Edinburgh - Inveraray - Oban
Departing from Edinburgh, we head north on a short drive to the impressive Kelpies, Scotland’s largest outdoor art installation, representing mythical water creatures and celebrating Scotland’s industrial past.
Continuing our journey, we pass Stirling Castle, where our guide will enthral you with stories of the famous freedom fighters William Wallace and Robert the Bruce.
As we venture into the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, soak in the stunning scenery while your guide outlines the fascinating history of the Highland clans. Our route then takes us west to the town of Balloch, located at the southern tip of Loch Lomond’s Bonnie Banks. Here, you’ll have time to explore and enjoy an optional hour-long scenic cruise on the loch.
We continue north to the village of Arrochar, nestled on the edge of Loch Long at the foot of the Arrochar Alps. After climbing the steep pass aptly named “The Rest and Be Thankful”, we arrive at Inveraray for lunch. This picturesque town, the historic seat of Clan Campbell and the Dukes of Argyll, is known for its beautiful location on Loch Fyne and is renowned for the quality of its seafood.
Next, we visit Kilmartin Glen, one of Europe’s richest Neolithic sites, featuring ancient standing stones, rock carvings, and burial chambers. After exploring the area, we continue to Oban, where you’ll spend the night.
Overnight: Oban
Day 2 - Oban - Glenfinnan - Edinburgh
Leaving Oban, we travel along the shores of Loch Linnhe, heading through the Great Glen to our first stop at Glen Coe, often regarded as Scotland’s most striking glen. Here, your driver-guide will recount the tragic events of the Glen Coe Massacre, a pivotal moment in Highland history that took place here in 1692. You’ll have ample time to enjoy the stunning scenery before we move on to our next incredible destination, the village of Glenfinnan on the scenic “Road to the Isles”.
The Glenfinnan Viaduct, famous among Harry Potter fans as the railway bridge crossed by the Hogwarts Express, offers a glimpse into cinematic magic. Discover real-world history at the Glenfinnan Monument, commemorating the highlanders who died for the Jacobite cause.
Next, we travel to Fort William, where you can choose to visit the Ben Nevis Whisky Distillery or explore the ruins of Inverlochy Castle, a late 13th-century fortress.
There’s a stop for lunch in Fort William, the Highlands’ second-largest town. During the 1745 Rebellion, the Jacobite forces of Bonnie Prince Charlie destroyed the original fort, which the town was named after.
Afterwards, we journey through the scenic beauty of the Cairngorms National Park to reach Pitlochry, nestled in the heart of Highland Perthshire’s stunning landscapes.
As we return to Edinburgh, you’ll be greeted by views of the iconic Forth Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This 19th-century marvel, once the world’s longest cantilever bridge, is now flanked by the 20th-century Forth Road Bridge and the 21st-century Queensferry Crossing.

Tell me what the visit to a whisky distillery will be like?
A visit to a traditional whisky distillery is a feast for all the senses. After a warm welcome you’ll normally have a short audio/visual presentation on the the history of the distillery and the traditional methods used in the distilling process.
Next is a tour of the distillery where you you will experience all stages of the whisky making process from mashing and fermenting to distilling and maturation.
Your tour will end with a tutored tasting of a malt whisky and the opportunity to buy a souvenir of your visit in the distillery shop.
Will there be a tour commentary?
Each tour is led by an experienced guide who will provide an informative and entertaining commentary in English.
You’ll hear tales of the Clans, bloody battles and the famous characters that have shaped the history of Scotland.
You will learn too of the landscape that surrounds you and of the nature that makes Scotland so special.
Be ready to have a laugh as well - you’re bound to be told some really corny jokes!
How much luggage can I bring?
Luggage space on the tour is restricted so the amount of luggage that you can bring is limited to 1 bag per person that weights no more than 15kg and has maximum dimensions of 55 x 40 x 20cm.
Luggage larger than this will only be carried if space is available.
What's the luggage allowance on this tour?
For safety reasons there is a luggage allowance of 15kg (33lb) per person in a medium sized bag (maximum size 63-67cm high/ 25-26in) and a small day-pack for your essential items.
