Full Tour Itinerary
One of Scotland’s most popular day trips, this Loch Ness, Glencoe and Highlands tour features the dramatic scenery and rich history of the Highlands. Our adventure starts with a scenic drive along the “bonnie, bonnie” banks of Loch Lomond, with a refreshment break in a picturesque village.
Next, climb into the Highlands by way of the rugged Black Mount to reach the vast wilderness of Rannoch Moor.
Your next highlight is Glen Coe, one of Scotland’s most atmospheric glens. Lofty mountains and a sweeping valley create a powerful setting, made even more poignant as it’s the setting of the notorious 1692 massacre of the MacDonald clan.
Continuing west, the route follows Loch Linnhe to Fort William, with time to pause for lunch beneath the shadow of Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain. From here, travel through the Great Glen to reach vast Loch Ness, which stretches for 24 miles and plunges to over 700 feet.
At Fort Augustus, you can stroll along the banks of the loch or join an optional cruise for the chance to search for the legendary Loch Ness Monster, Nessie.
The return journey heads south into the picturesque Cairngorms National Park, then through the Grampian Mountains to reach the impressive forests and rivers of Highland Perthshire.
There is a final refreshment stop in the Victorian town of Pitlochry, before returning to Glasgow in the evening.
