Soon, the expanse of Loch Ness unfolds in front of us as we sail the deepest waters of the loch to reach Urquhart Castle. Hop ashore to explore the atmospheric ruins and discover over 1,000 years of turbulent history. Next, visit the Loch Ness Centre to learn more about the loch and the myths of its famous resident. The tour ends with a scenic lochside drive back to Inverness.

Your exciting day of discovery starts when you board your luxury coach in Inverness City Centre. Soon, the hustle and bustle of the city is left behind as you make your way to Dochgarroch, which sits on the banks of the Caledonian Canal. This engineering marvel, built by Thomas Telford in the 1800s, flows for 60 miles through the Great Glen.
Board your modern cruise boat for a 1-hour sailing to reach Urquhart Castle. Loch Ness is the largest Scottish loch by volume, and experts say that it contains more freshwater than all the lakes of England and Wales combined! The loch is most famous for being the home of Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster, so as you cruise across the dark and mysterious waters, keep a watch out, just in case!
On arrival at Urquhart Castle, head ashore to discover the history of this once mighty fortress and explore the hauntingly beautiful ruins. There has been a fortress here since the Iron Age, and over the centuries, it has witnessed many key events in Scotland’s history. During your visit, you can climb the Grant Tower to admire the panoramic views of the loch, gaze into the gloomy prison cell and see the many artefacts left by castle residents, including the 15th-Century ewer (water jug).
Next, make the short drive to the pleasant village of Drumnadrochit to find out more about the loch and its most famous resident when we stop to visit The Loch Ness Centre.
Our Loch Ness experience ends with a drive along the banks back to Inverness city centre.

What can I expect on this Cruise and Coach Tour?
These enjoyable tours are a combination of luxury touring by coach and a relaxing cruise on the mysterious waters of Loch Ness.
You’ll depart from the centre of Inverness on board an air-conditioned luxury coach with a local driver/guide providing a full commentary in English.
Later in the tour, you’ll board a cruise boat for a monster-spotting sail across the deep and dark waters of Loch Ness!
The cruise boat features both inside and outside seating, toilets and a bar.
You can even track if “Nessie” is swimming below using the state-of-the-art onboard sonar equipment.
Can children travel on this tour?
Children of all ages are welcome to travel on this cruise/coach tour. Special child prices are available for children aged up to 15 years of age.
Are these tours suitable for wheelchair users?
We are sorry but due to layout of the cruise boats these tours are not suitable for wheelchair users
I’ve missed my tour because I was late, can I get a refund?
We’re sorry but refunds or credits won’t be issued if you miss your tour because you are not at the departure point on time.
In fairness to all our passengers coaches will not wait if you are late.
How many people will be in the group?
The group size is normally around 33 passengers. At times of peak demand (such as on public holidays) larger coaches may be used.

The lockness temptation afternoon tour is delightful very well organised with a great tour guide Linda who made sure that we were all comfy thru the trip. The boat trip was fun with a jolly captain guide . Amazing sceneries great discovery experience of the lockness. The Urquhart castle was simply majestic and magical. I highly recommend this tour
