  • The islands of Canna, Eigg, Muck and Rum are part of archipelago known as the "Small Isles".
  • The Orkney Chair is traditionally made of driftwood with a hand-stitched straw back the Orkney Chair kept its occupant warm through generations. Orkney Chairs are still hand made in Orkney and available to buy.

Harris Tweed

Islanders on Harris hand-weave tweed cloth in their homes in the Outer Hebrides. The fine wool they use is also dyed and spun locally. The Harris Tweed quality, name and products are protected in law. See the island’s main industry at work for yourself.

Islands Skara Brae

Dating from 3180BC, Skara Brae is a Neolithic stone-built settlement on the largest of the Orkney Islands. Its UNESCO World Heritage Site status recognises Skara Brae’s status as the most complete Neolithic village in Europe.
